Prizes: Trophies to Top 20 players in each section and all players in KG section. Participation awards to every player. Trophies to Top 10 teams.

Background: Since the CalChess State Scholastic Championship coincides with the High School National Championship, CalChess will hold another tournament under State Championship conditions and rules to determine the Denker representative (but not HS State Champions). This Denker Qualifier is on the same weekend and place as the CalChess Regional Championship.

This IS the CalChess's Denker Nationals Qualifier & Regional Championship to warm up for the States! The highest placed Northern California High School Student in the 9-12 Elite Section will represent CalChess in the Denker tournament. Highest placed player(s) in all Elite and Champ Sections will be crowned Regional Champion(s). All players must be current members of the USCF except for any non-rated section. Non-members must join or renew for appropriate fee with their entry. March 2010 rating supplement will be used.
